Goetre Farm
1500s

The Goetre sits on the escarpment of the Cambrian mountains looking east and south down the Trannon valley which leads in to the Severn valley and has spectacular panoramic views over over 35 miles with far off mountains cradling the view. Being set exactly in mid Wales, this is the perfect location to explore this beautiful part of the world and easily accessable to north and south Wales also, stunning beaches are only a 40 minute drive away

You are in exceptionally beautiful country side around here in upland Montgomeryshire, with fantastic walking opportunities on the edge of the Cambrian mountains, exactly half way between the Snowdonia National Park and the Brecon Beacons making this an ideal location for adventurers for both south, mid and north Wales.
We are nestled on the escarpment of the Cambrian Mountains at 1100 feet in upland Montgomeryshire in fantastic walking country with spectacular 40 miles views east/south with stunning sunrises . The nearest local beaches about 40/45 minutes away are Ynyslas, Borth, Aberdovey, Twywn, Aberystwth. There are lakes, nearest is Llyn Clwedog with a sailing club, (2 miles), the Elan Valley, Lake Vyrnwy and Bala. Mountains, Cadar Idris about 1 hour away second highest mountain in Wales or Snowdonia, 2 hrs, highest. River Severn and Wye start very close by too and has a good signposted walk to the source. Powys Castle. Steam railways, Devils Bridge, Glyndwr’s Way, Offas Dyke to name a few.
Set on the escarpment of the spectacular Cambrian Mountains in upland Montgomeryshire, with all that this fantastic area has to offer.
Just 4 miles from Llanidloes, with the only medieval market hall still in existence in Wales ,which is abundant with small independent shops selling local produce, friendly café’s and two supermarkets. Llanidloes is a vibrant little town and was voted the third best place to live in Wales in recent years.
Llanidloes is the first town on the River Severn and was established as a wool and weaving town and also famous for the significant part in played in the ‘Chartist’ movement and ‘Rebecca Riots’ in the 1830’s. It is one of the loveliest vibrant small towns in Mid Wales and you are guaranteed to get a friendly welcome.
